Frequently Asked Questions
All week numbers of 2023 in your ‘head’
You probably know them: those people who seem to have a walking agenda. They say it without difficulty: the summer holidays start this year in week 29, we walk Sint Maarten in week 45 and Christmas is of course week 52. Pretty handy, but uhm, what date are they referring to? Thanks to the overview of Jaarkalender.nl you know that immediately. Can you, clearly as you are now, suggest a coffee date on Tuesday in week 19 (May 9, 2023 so :P). Would you also like to tell us something interesting about the count of our weeks during the coffee appointment? Then read on.
What week is it 2023?
The year 2023 begins on Monday, January 2 and ends on Sunday, January 8. January 1, 2023, New Year’s Day, is still in week 52. Many people think that the first week of the year starts on January 1, but that is not the case. The first week of a calendar year must contain at least 4 days of the new year. It is therefore possible that week 1 already starts in December of the ‘old year’. A handy mnemonic: January 4 always falls in week 1!
How many weeks does 2023 have?
The year 2023, like 2022, has 52 weeks. Only if it is a leap year , the year has 53 weeks. In a leap year we have 366 days instead of 365 days. Leap day is February 29 and occurs in years divisible by four. The exception is full century years, which must be divisible by four hundred. 2024 is another leap year!
The Central region will be the first to have their summer holiday in 2023: they are free from week 28 to week 33. In other words, from July 8 to August 20. The South region is one week later. The summer holidays there are from week 29 to week 34 (15 July to 27 August). Region North can note 22 July to 3 September in the agenda. There is the summer holiday from week 30 to week 35.
